The Room151 team is expanding with senior appointments in both editorial and conference production, plus a new office in Central London.

Room151 is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Thatcher as editorial director. Mike joins from EY where he oversaw content management across the Big Four firm’s Global Assurance business. He has substantial experience of local government finance, having previously been editor of Public Finance magazine for 14 years.

Also joining Room151 this month are Sally Shaw and Jockum Nyberg as senior conference producers. Sally previously worked at CWC Group, Informa and Kable, while Jockum joins from Infoline Conferences.

Peter Findlay, Room151’s publisher and founder, said he was excited by the appointments, which come as Room151 moves into new offices at 63 St Mary Axe in Central London.

‘Mike’s appointment as editorial director signals our intention to increase the quality and quantity of editorial content on Room151. Similarly, Sally and Jockum will help us expand our existing series of events and conferences into new areas. Look out for developments in the months ahead, including launches in related sectors,’ he said.

Mike told Room151: ‘I’m really looking forward to returning to the local government world and meeting old friends and contacts. Feel free to reach out to me on mike.thatcher@room151.co.uk with suggestions for news stories, opinion articles and interviews of relevance to Section 151 officers.’
