Bristol seeks £1bn energy network investment
0Bristol City Council has launched a search for up to £1bn of private sector investment into its energy infrastructure over the next 10 years.
The council has launched a prospectus outlining opportunities prior to launching procurement exercises later this financial year.
The council hopes the investment will help with its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
Kye Dudd, cabinet member for energy and waste, said: “We want to use our role as local government to act as a catalyst for change. In return for partnering with us, businesses would get a chance to shape the future of the city’s energy system and unlock opportunities to gain a return on their initial investment.”
