Councils urged to bid for cash for new towns
0Councils have been urged to bid for cash to develop proposals for 100 new towns.
Teams were invited by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government to bid for a share of £16.4m from the Town Deal which aims to create 100 new communities.
The department said councils can use their share of the cash to establish town deal boards “with investment priorities and project proposals then set out in a locally-owned town investment plan.
“Proposals should drive long term economic and productivity growth through investment in connectivity, land use, economic assets including cultural assets, skills and enterprise infrastructure”.
