Details on the way for Ayrshire Growth Deal
0Infrastructure secretary Michael Matheson has said that it will soon be possible to sign a heads of terms agreement for the Ayrshire Growth Deal, under which the Scottish government will invest £100m in the area.
The money from the Scottish government sits alongside another £100m pledged by the UK government.
The heads of terms agreement will specify the projects to be supported.
Matheson was meeting with council leaders to discuss progress on the deal, and indicated that aerospace and defence, infrastructure, skills training, and tourism, among others would receive support.
Sharon Hodgson, head of Ayrshire Growth Deal, said: “Today the Scottish government confirmed their commitment for the Ayrshire Growth Deal – and this welcome announcement is testament to the hard work and commitment of many people across the region.”
