Ealing signs £275m development agreement for town centre
0Ealing Council has signed a development agreement for around £275m with Galliford Try Partnerships for a mixed-use scheme which will include council offices and 470 new homes, of which nearly half will be ‘affordable’.
The Perceval House development will include the council’s headquarters, a customer services centre, a library, and retail units.
The construction of the council buildings will be paid for by the sales of the land for the development and by the subsequent sales of the residential property.
More than half the affordable homes will be provided at social rent and London living rent.
Galliford Try and the council will conduct a consultation with the local community before submitting a planning application later this year.
Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “Our offices are in a key town centre location, but at the moment we aren’t making the best use of this important site.
“These plans will deliver much-needed genuinely affordable homes in our town centre, supporting our pledge of 2,500 new homes.
“At no cost to the council, it will also provide us with a brand-new customer service centre and library, and a smaller, more modern and cheaper to maintain and run office block.”
