Glasgow puts £104m into affordable homes
0Glasgow City Council has announced funding over the next two years to deliver 3,500 affordable homes.
The council is allocating £104m from its budgets as part of the Affordable Housing Supply Programme led by the Scottish government.
The money will fund projects already started, new builds and the medical adaptation of homes for social housing tenants so they can stay in their homes for longer.
A further £110m will be allocated in 2020-21 from the programme.
Cllr Kenny McLean, city convener for neighbourhoods, housing and public realm, said: “There is of course an additional economic boost to the city with jobs created through this level of house-building, and we look forward to working with our partners to bring these high-quality, energy-efficient homes for people and families in the future.”
