Haringey agrees housing company plan
0London Borough of Haringey has revealed plans for a wholly-owned company selling open market houses to help subsidise council homes for rent.
Plans for the company were approved this week by the same council cabinet meeting which also approved plans to scrap its controversial joint venture with developer Lendlease.
The new company will aim to develop sites of up to 200 homes at a time on council-owned land.
The council will pay for the £500,000 set up costs using funding from the government’s Flexible Homelessness Support Grant.
