New chief executive for LGPS Central
0LGPS Central has appointed Mike Weston as its new CEO.
Weston was previously CEO of the Pensions Infrastructure Platform, and before that he served as chief investment officer at the Daily Mail and General Trust pension funds, and as a director at Hermes Invesment Management.
He will start his new role on 7 March, subject to FCA approval.
Joanne Segars, chair of LGPS Central Ltd, said: “I am delighted that Mike is joining the company as CEO.
“He brings a wealth of understanding of investment management, occupational pension schemes and the LGPS.
“He joins at an exciting time for the company as our assets under management grow and will make a great contribution to developing the pool alongside our partner funds.
“I look forward to working with him.”
LGPS Central has also announced the appointment of John Burns as deputy chief executive officer.
Burns is being promoted internally from his current position as chief operations and financial officer.
