Northants makes savings progress
0Northamptonshire County Council is making good progress towards reducing its predicted overspend in 2018/19, according to a council report.
The council’s latest forecast outturn summary predicts an overspend of £11m for the year, an improvement of £19.1m on the figure reported in July last year, when it issued a second section 114 notice.
A stabilisation plan was approved by the cabinet on 9th October 2018, which included the development of additional savings proposals totalling £18.2m for delivery in 2018-19.
Further savings of £1.7m have been identified since that plan was approved.
The council’s latest monthly finance report includes £7.2m of proposals from the plan that have been assessed as delivered.
