Plaid vows to end Westminster funding deals
0Plaid Cymru has pledged new legislation to get Wales a fairer funding settlement.
The party has proposed to create a new Office for Fair Funding that would decide the settlements that Wales gets.
Writing on the Politics Home website Jonathan Edwards, Plaid Cymru’s treasury spokesperson said: “At the moment, the majority of Welsh taxes are collected by Westminster and then money is sent back to Wales based on population share.
“That means, it is not the amount which is needed that drives funding, but the relatively arbitrary matter of how many people live here.”
