Revised Welsh audit code published
0The Auditor General for Wales has published a revised code of audit practice after a public consultation earlier this year. The code sets out the principles external auditors must follow when carrying out audit work on his behalf and explains best professional practice.
The document has been revised to incorporate the “sustainable development principle”, introduced in the Welsh Well-Being of Future Generations Act.
Huw Vaughan Thomas, auditor general for Wales, said: “I firmly believe that the principles laid out in the code will allow us to maximise the contribution auditors can make to democratic accountability, helping the people of Wales know whether public money is being managed wisely, and public bodies in Wales understand how to improve outcomes.”
