Right to Buy sales lowest for six years but replacements rise
0Councils sold 2,313 homes under the Right to Buy scheme in the first quarter of 2019/20, down 7% from the same period last year.
The figure is the lowest for any quarter since the 2,181 sold between April and June 2013.
The average receipt per dwelling sold in Q1 2019-20 was £84,200
An estimated 1,290 dwellings started on site or acquired as part of Right to Buy replacement policy during the quarter, 38 per cent higher than the number of dwellings started or acquired in the same quarter of 2018/19.
