Categories

There are six categories in total which we’ve listed below along with short descriptions.

Because local government finance work often straddles more than one service area, we’ve given you the option of selecting up to two categories for each entry.

So, for example, building green homes could go into Place Shaping or Carbon Management, or maybe both.  It’s entirely up to you. If we think you’ve got a better chance of success in a different category to the one/s you select, we’ll give you a call to discuss.

  • IMPACT INVESTMENT (TREASURY & PENSIONS) Recognising the work of the treasury and pensions functions (or their investment pools) in either; a) investing in projects/vehicles with a social or environmental purpose, or; b) making a positive impact on the council’s overall financial position.   • TACKLING COVID-19 Recognising the extraordinary contribution council finance departments have made to supporting their communities through the pandemic through revs and bens, supporting the frontline, discretionary grants and any other ways finance had to get involved!
  • INNOVATION & PARTNERSHIPS Recognising financial innovation and joint-working with other public and private sector organisations for better outcomes.
  • CARBON MANAGEMENT Recognising the finance function’s role in contributing towards a better local or global environment.
