Capita partners with PSLive to bolster treasury offering

Treasury advisor Capita Asset Services has agreed a strategic partnership with Public Sector Live (PSL), which will see the promotion of the latter’s TreasuryLive risk management software.
Capita will combine the tool, currently used by around 25 local authorities, into the advice it offers on treasury management strategy.
The cloud-based platform, which has been endorsed by CIPFA’s Treasury Management Network, allows councils to record all of their deals and link them to live market data.
Jackie Shute, director at Public Sector Live told Room 151: “As a fintech company specialising in empowering clients to use relevant information to support their treasury decisions, PSL strongly believe that working alongside Capita will produce synergies not previously available.
“Councils can use the tool to filter their data which will free up Capita’s advisors to spend more time discussing strategic issues with customers.”
Details of the financial arrangements behind the deal are being kept under wraps, but Shute said that the deal would be “mutually beneficial” for both parties.
Initially, Capita will be the main client contact for local authorities using the tool, with PSL providing technical support, Shute said.
She stressed that the tool would still be available to councils which do not have a relationship with Capita.
TreasuryLive currently offers a standard free service which records deals, along with paid-for versions providing daily risk analytics.
David Whelan, managing director of Capita Asset Services’ treasury solutions business said: “This agreement represents a significant step forward in the delivery of an integrated treasury infrastructure for all local authorities, addressing the public sector’s ever increasing demands for greater efficiencies and flexibility.”
Shute said that PSL would continue to be involved in the strategic direction of the platform.
In addition, it will develop new technologies to provide further risk analysis tools to the sector with a focus on building communities, enhanced communication and transaction support, she said.

As a non-Capita, PS Live client I see this as a positive development. Hopefully leading to increase functionally in terms of benchmarking against similar authorities on the system.
