Goodwin and Morton to join LGA
0The Local Government Association has appointed a new executive director for local government finance and policy and a new head of local government finance.
Daniel Goodwin is the incoming executive director. He is currently chief executive at St Albans City and District Council and will be responsible for policy development and local government financial strategy for the LGA. He has worked for Wealden District Council, Peterborough City Council and Brent Council in the past.
Nicola Morton becomes head of local government finance reporting to Goodwin she is currently local government finance advisor at the Audit Commission and was previously head of local government finance at London Councils.
Said Sir Merrick Cockell, chairman of the LGA: “Daniel brings a wealth of local government experience to the table and is extremely well placed to provide both the LGA and the sector as a whole with the leadership and support these challenging times require.
