Backtracking on commitments? Local government sector responds to finance policy statement

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has been accused of backtracking on key funding commitments and simply “reallocating an already inadequate funding pot” in its policy statement for the provisional finance settlement for 2026/27 and Fair Funding Review 2.0 consultation response.
