More councils see exceptional financial support requests granted for 2026/27

The number of local authorities having their requests for exceptional financial support (EFS) granted in principle by the government has increased again for 2026/27.

Shropshire Council is set to receive £121m, as well as £71.4m support agreed in-principle for 2025/28, while Croydon Council will receive Croydon £119m in 2026/27.
