‘Real risk’ that LGR savings overstated

Savings promised under the latest wave of local government reorganisation (LGR) may have been exaggerated as the business cases underpinning it failed to account for the shake-up in council funding, according to Lorna Baxter, president of the Association of Local Authority Treasurers (ALATS).
