Local authority investments drop £10bn as borrowing climbs

Total local authority investments have decreased by just over £10bn in the past two years, while total borrowing has risen by almost £14bn over the same period, according to new figures.

The latest quarterly data on local authority investment and borrowing, published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, shows a sustained decline
